Kitchens
Before conducting work on your kitchen, be sure to measure effectively
Whether you plan on re-doing your kitchen entirely or only want to make a few minor cosmetic changes to the room, Lowe's says you should utilize some of its expert measuring tips to ensure the project is done right.
An essential device all homeowners should own, according to Lowe's, is a tape measure. This allows you to measure areas of practically all sizes adequately. Along with the tape measure, though, the home improvement source recommends using a straight edge and graph paper to identify angle measurements.
Wherever you plan on making changes in your kitchen, Lowe's states you should be measuring all lengths. A good way to achieve these measurements in a timely and orderly fashion is to working clockwise around the room and label measurements on walls, countertops and other surfaces with pencil.
Lowe's also says you may need to find the center of parts of your kitchen where you plan on doing work, so be sure to measure widths and lengths of cabinets as well as one end of a wall to its other end. The process may be time consuming, but it's better than the alternative - repairing your repairs.
