Financing options to help fund home remodeling projects

Homeowners often want to conduct home improvement projects. However, funding them can be troublesome if they don't have enough saved up. According to FOXBusiness, though, there are some helpful ways to get enough money to complete home remodeling efforts.

One way to do so, FOXBusiness says, is to find a contractor willing to provide you with a loan. Some large contracting companies offer lending services to homeowners with tight financing. But, before deciding on a contractor loan, the source recommends looking around for other rates to ensure you secure the best one.

Personal loans are also a viable option to cover expenses for home remodeling. FOXBusiness states not all banks offer these types of loans, though, so be sure to research which ones do.

The government offers a few distinct loans for homeowners to conduct high-priced renovations and additions to their properties, according to the source. One example is the Title 1 home improvement loan, which offers up to $25,000 for home improvement projects which can be repaid during a 20-year term.

Also, if you want to install energy-efficient appliances that can offer energy savings, FOXBusiness says you may want to look into securing money from the government. Up to $1,500 is available to homeowners who want to install appliances such as Energy Star-approved washing machines and dishwashers.
